Egg sandwiches are a staple around our house. I make them on a very regular basis and while we gravitate towards the simple egg and cheese sandwich, there are times when we like to shake things up a bit! Depending on what we have on hand and how much time we have determines how creative I am in the kitchen.
How about you? Do you like to create new and exciting things in your menu or are you more like me and cook because we need food to live? Haha in all seriousness though, egg sandwiches are great for any type of “cook”. They are simple, delicious, and packed with protein.
We recently purchased a Blackstone Grill and LOVE it! We can whip out a lot of egg sandwiches at one time. However, if I’m just making one sandwich quick, I’ll just toast the toast in the toaster and use a frying pan for the eggs.

If you want to go beyond the basics, here are some more ideas to switch up your egg sandwiches:
Add Avocado: Creamy avocado adds healthy fats and a delicious texture.
Try Different Breads: Sourdough, rye, whole grain or brioche can add unique flavors.
Experiment with Sauces: Try sriracha, pesto, honey mustard or a drizzle of hot sauce for extra flavor.
Add Crunchy Veggies: Cucumber, bell pepper or even shredded carrots can add a refreshing crunch.
Top with Microgreens: Microgreens or arugula are an easy way to add nutrition and a pop of green.
Why Eggs Are the Perfect Choice
Eggs are so versatile and healthy, making them the perfect base for creative cooking. They’re loaded with protein, vitamins, and minerals. And since we raise backyard chickens, they’re always available and super fresh!
